MaRS Entrepreneurship 101 Series

One of the more complicated issues discussed in this week’s Entrepreneurship 101 session, Human Resource Management for the Entrepreneur, is the distinction between being a consultant and being an employee of a company. I have heard a number of horror stories from recent graduates who feel that they are being exploited as low cost “consultants” to companies as a way around receiving the normal benefits associated with employment.

Question of the week
Are there other stories out there about being a consultant - pro or con - vs being an employee?
