Something unusual caught my eye in the Toronto Star over the holidays. It seems that psychic consultations in Toronto are way up - almost double - since the economic downturn hit. One of the more interesting observations in the piece noted that many new clients are business professionals who in better times would never have considered consulting a psychic. And its not just business people who are doing it. Young people and students worried about their futures are also turning to psychics and astrologers for advice.
With the recent developments in the global economy, I think we’re all worried about the future to some degree. And if some people derive comfort and feel greater confidence about their decisions after consulting a psychic or an astrologer, then it is money well spent. Confidence leads to action and in times like this, we need brave and optimistic people willing to take chances on a better future (assuming, of course, that the necessary research has been done and you’re not betting it all on hocus pocus). After all, those small transactions all add up to provide some stimulus, however small, to the economy and that’s the kind of thinking we need to get things back on track.

Yes it is particularly important to many people to consult a psychic or a tarot reading in these difficult and trying times. With more bad news coming from the TV all the time, we need to get some form of certainty as to how far all this is going to take us before the upturn. Whether a psychic can really give that information is debatable, but they can probably help the individual to make informed decisions about their own lives and choices.
