About the MaRS blog
Welcome to the MaRS blog!
We are venturing out into the blog world because it’s a great way to try out new ideas and engage in a conversation with you, our readers. We hope that while you’re here, you find something interesting, informative, and maybe even surprising.
Through this blog and our website in general, we hope that more of you will engage in the rich variety of events and programs happening at and facilitated by MaRS. We believe this is how convergence innovation works; that encounters between individuals and fields and ideas result in useful new concepts and ways of doing things. We also hope to help foster the MaRS community, both inside and outside the physical building of the MaRS Centre.
The MaRS blog has a number of different elements — we post guest blog submissions from individuals who have interesting ideas about commercialization, science and technology policy, entrepreneurship, to name just a few. We explore the full meaning of innovation, extending beyond science and tech, and including the creative industries and trends in social innovation. We also link to articles and other online resources and our own MaRS blogger team will constantly be updating the blog with fresh, remarkable news items, MaRS happenings, and questions. We focus on some broad categories: Emerging Science and Technology, Entrepreneurship and Business, Innovation Policy, Social Innovation and finally, Canada and the World.
We hope that you’ll check back with us often for relevant and fascinating new ideas as we further explore how MaRS can better connect and foster collaboration between science, business, capital and community.
We invite your feedback on any aspect of our blog, your suggestions for topics and guest bloggers, or your own guest blog submissions. We look forward to sharing this space with you, and to our ongoing conversation. Let us know your thoughts on topics, the content, or anything about the MaRS blog by emailing blog@marsdd.com.
